Hi, I’m Shannon

I’m a doula based in Cambridgeshire, supporting families across Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire, offering calm, personalised support through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.

I’m also a mum of four, and someone who cares deeply about how birth feels, not just how it looks on paper.

Because being informed is important.
But feeling safe, heard, and not rushed? That’s what changes everything.

A little more about me

I’m a home educating mum, someone who leans towards a slower, more intentional way of living (as much as life with four kids allows 😅), and I tend to bring that same energy into my work.

I’m not clinical.
I’m not here with scripts or perfect answers.

What I am is:

• Calm in situations that feel intense
• Good at holding space without taking over
• Someone who will listen properly, not just nod along

And someone who genuinely cares about how you experience this chapter of your life.

My approach to doula support

If you’re looking for someone to tell you what to do, I’m probably not the right fit.

If you’re looking for a doula in Cambridgeshire who will:

• Help you understand your options within the NHS
• Support you in planning a VBAC (vaginal birth after caesarean)
• Sit with you while you figure things out without rushing you
• Talk things through before or after antenatal appointments
• Be a steady, familiar presence during labour

Then you’re in the right place.

I don’t offer one-size-fits-all packages, because your pregnancy, your brain, and your birth aren’t one-size-fits-all.

Supporting neurodivergent mothers

This is a big part of my work.

As a neurodivergent woman myself, I understand how pregnancy and maternity care can feel especially within the NHS system.

Appointments can feel fast.
Information can feel unclear or contradictory.
You might leave thinking, “I didn’t say what I wanted to say.”

You’re not difficult.
You’re not overthinking.

You’re navigating a system that isn’t designed for how your brain processes information.

I offer neurodivergent-friendly doula support, including for ADHD and autistic mothers, where:

• You have time to process
• Things are explained clearly and calmly
• You can ask the same question more than once
• You don’t have to mask or perform

This is a space where you can show up exactly as you are

Why I do this work

I didn’t come into this work because birth was simple or straightforward for me.

I came into it because it wasn’t.

Because I know what it’s like to sit in antenatal appointments feeling overwhelmed, trying to process information quickly, and wondering if you’re allowed to ask more questions.

I know what it’s like to hear statistics without context.
To feel the pressure of decisions that don’t quite sit right.

And I know how different it feels when you have the right support beside you.

After my own VBA3C (vaginal birth after three caesareans), I didn’t come away thinking “I did everything right.”

I came away thinking:

I felt supported. I felt informed. And I felt like I had a voice.

And that’s what I want for you.

VBAC support in the UK

I have a special interest in supporting women planning a VBAC in the UK especially those navigating NHS care.

Because VBAC isn’t just a “type of birth.”

It often comes with:

• Mixed messages from different professionals
• Conversations about risk that feel unclear or one-sided
• Pressure around induction or repeat caesarean
• A need to advocate for your preferences

Whether you’re actively planning a VBAC or just exploring your options after a previous caesarean, I offer grounded, non-judgemental support to help you:

• Understand your choices
• Prepare for antenatal appointments
• Feel more confident asking questions and making decisions

There’s no “right” outcome here, just your informed choice.

If you’re wondering if this is the right fit…

You don’t need a perfect birth plan.
You don’t need to know exactly what you want yet.

You just need to feel like:

“I don’t want to do this on my own.”

If you’re looking for a doula in Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire, or Northamptonshire, especially for VBAC support or neurodivergent pregnancy support, you’re very welcome here.
